World population to rise by 40%

"The world's population is expected to rise from the current 6.5 billion to 9.1 billion by 2050, the UN says.

Virtually all the growth will be in the developing world, according to a report by the UN Population Division.

By contrast, the population of developed countries will remain almost static at 1.2 billion, the report adds. "

"Fifty-one countries -- including Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia -- should have smaller populations in 45 years.

"Since 1990-1995, fertility decline has been the rule among most developed countries," the report says.

But the populations of many developed countries with falling fertility rates, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, will increase due to the arrival of migrants. Zlotnik said developed countries will absorb about 2.2 million migrants every year until 2050."

Wow. Dumb people are too dumb to figure out having 10 kids is a bad idea. Smart people realize that dumb people are having too many kids, so they elect to have none.

I came from a 3 kid family. Sarah has a younger brother. Our parents struggled to provide a good, healthy upbringing for us. They sacrificed. Most parents are not that disciplined.

As a D.I.N.K (my mom loves to call me that), I tend to think I'm one of the smart people that has it figured out. If you're not going to devote your life to your children, then DON'T HAVE CHILDREN. It's that simple.

Too bad the religious mantra "go forth and multiply" is pushed down the throats of developing nations. They'll multiply, but they won't be able to go forth. Imagine being born into a country with 2 billion people scrapping for the same lousy low-paying job. You wouldn't even stand a chance.

You're definitely the "glass is half full" type of person.  I'm looking at the problem.  You're looking for a solution.  It's a start, but overpopulation is something that is inevitable and beyond our control.

http://joerogan.net/" REL="nofollow">Joe Rogan (the comedian) had a great bit in his last stand-up show here in Houston about why we don't know how the pyramids were created.  To sum it up: the super-intelligent architects were bred out of existence by idiots.  The brainiacs were too focused on education and never got laid, hence never passing on their super-intelligent genes. The idiots eventually took over and drew the stick figures into the walls.

It makes a lot more sense when you see his stand-up.  But I digress...

On a related note: have you seen the movie http://www.metacritic.com/video/titles/gardenstate" REL="nofollow">Garden State?  I love the scene where she introduces her African brother Ditembe who was studying Criminal Forensics in the states.  Later on he's dusting for prints and you can see fingerprints all over the screen.  It's an excellent movie.

More people should adopt children from other countries. My kid sister is adopted from Korea. There have been sooooo many times when I introduce her to people, I don't even realize she is Korean and people look at us strangely. But seriously, thousands of couples have fertility problems that last for years, sometimes they give up hope.  There are hundreds of thousands of children waiting to be adopted into loving families.   This would digress the breeding quadrant into another realm.

Yes, but on the upside, we'll all be able to enjoy being outsourced of our jobs to some Indian who will do it for $.29 per week!

The Bible does read that God stated "Go forth and multiply", but he never said anything about humpin' like bunnies. Geesh!

Sarah...thanks for the ab workout, I needed that laugh.

I have seen the movie Garden State.  FYI Zach Braff is in love with me but thanks to the restraining order he'll never know.
